Thursday, 21 September saw our first Eurostaff Connect Brussels Meetup take place as we live up to our ethos Connecting Europe; discussing ‘Why is JavaScript the most commonly used programming language?'

Our event was partnered with Hackages, those known to be the bunch of enthusiastic software engineers, passionate about new technologies and education. It is their mission to share knowledge in evolving technologies, namely JavaScript and its ecosystem. Partnering with this industry leader enabled us to collaborate and share insights across our extensive network.

40 professionals and those looking to learn more about JavaScript joined us at Radisson Blu, Brussels. Grabbing a drink and a seat in the large open space, our Java & JavaScript Specialist Mert Amcaoglu introduced Eurostaff and the evening, swiftly followed by Lead Engineer and Director of Hackages Davy Engone as he took the audience on a journey back to the beginnings of JavaScript up until present day – the audience had all the background knowledge they needed, which led nicely to our next speaker: Harold Waterkeyn - Lead Open Source Engineer at Hackages discussing 'JavaScript for front-end apps, an introduction to React.' The audience were gripped; the pens and notepads were a firm indication that the information was invaluable. A short networking break, food and drink and then concluding the evening, Gregoire Van Der Auwermeulen - Open Source Engineer at Hackages sharing his thoughts about 'JavaScript for full-stack apps, an introduction to GraphQL and Apollo.'

A quick Q&A to finish, with questions asked by the audience about Hackages and the training courses they provide.

At Eurostaff we firmly believe it is essential to support those businesses that are helping to build a strong community of professionals who want to better their skill-sets and become the best they can be in their careers. It was a pleasure to partner with Hackages and support them and we look forward to hosting more events in Brussels for developers in the future.
