Our partnership with Hackages speaks volumes – and not just the volumes of open source programming languages that are out there, but more about who we are as a company and what we stand for aligning with Hackages and their ethos.

Hackages are a Brussels-based group of software engineers who are on a mission to share their expertise in JavaScript through a dedicated training and community based program. How do they do it? Through high quality training and follow-up and they are well-known for their insight.

Partnering with Hackages was a no-brainer; for all the above reasons and for the fact that - like us - they have presence across Europe. Our mission of connecting Europe™ is now in full as we connect people with opportunity.

Our next Eurostaff Connect Brussels Meetup on 21, September will be pivoted around three of Hackages’ team, presenting key information about JavaScript, asking: Why is it the most commonly used programming language?

First up to speak will be, Davy Engone Nze - Managing Director and Head of Engineering at Hackages. He will summarise the all-important question of 'JavaScript; how far has it come over the decade?' This talk will walk our guests through the evolution of the language from a toy language to a robust, multi-functional one. Davy will show the features introduced in the latest version of ECMAScript that makes JavaScript one of the most commonly used programming languages and look at the ecosystem around this technology namely: TypeScript, Node, React, Angular and Vue

Next up, Harold Waterkeyn - Lead Open Source Engineer at Hackages will be discussing 'JavaScript for front-end apps, an introduction to React.’ In this talk, Harold will provide an overview of React with the mission to get you as excited as him about the library! He will answer what is React? How does it work? What can we do with it?

Concluding the MeetUp, Gregoire Van Der Auwermeulen, Open Source Engineer at Hackages will look at: 'JavaScript for full-stack apps, an introduction to GraphlQL and Apollo.' During this talk, he will introduce GraphQL and Apollo. Gregoire will present GraphQL specifications on the server side and show how to implement it in NodeJS and Apollo. He will also observe GraphQL specifications on the client side and how to implement it in React and Apollo.

In summary, it is an event not to be missed if you are working within the open source programming world and want to enrich your competencies and become the best you can be in such a well-sought after job arena.
