Key chemical player with EMEA HQ in Switzerland very keen to add an 'indirect' sourcing specialist to their team.
You should have 3-5 years experience in sourcing preferably with a 'non production' slant.
• Create value by developing and implementing area and global sourcing strategies for the commodities in the category following the strategic sourcing process and other supporting work processes. This also includes assisting and providing input to other Sourcing Managers and Specialists on global strategies and implementation impacting Europe
• Conduct Requests for Information and Proposals (RFI/RFP) to identify suppliers capable of meeting business requirements and maintaining communication with internal clients.
• Create value for business partners by negotiating price or commercial contracts that create a competitive advantage for the company
• Work with functional business partners, Business Process Service Center Representatives, and suppliers to set up contracts in the systems, resolve issues regarding purchase orders, supplier performance (QSPP), and invoice payments.
• Work with Work Process and Center of Expertise Leaders, business partners and ensure the proper methods of purchases, work processes and tools are used to provide greater value to Dow.
• Interact with other Sourcing Specialists to leverage learning experiences and develop best practices. Identify opportunities for improvement and eliminate redundancy and unnecessary activities.
• Develop and maintain basic knowledge of suppliers and relevant market developments.
• Establish and maintain business relationships with the key suppliers.
